Seek and You Will Find

Luke 11:5-13

There is no secret: Jesus waits to satisfy the deepest longings of your soul.

Why it matters: In a world that values instant gratification with zero satisfaction, Jesus desperately waits to comfort our hearts and quench the thirst of our souls.

Go Deeper

Persistence

  • We are so used to getting everything we want right when we want it.

  • Jesus emphasizes the importance of perseverance in prayer. By persisting, we will either obtain what we seek or realize that it may not be what we truly need.

Imperfect Gifts

  • Even in the midst of our own brokenness, we have received great gifts from those who love us.

  • How much more is our Heavenly Father waiting to bless us? Not with gifts that sedate our flesh, but with gifts that satiate our souls.

Ask, and You Will Receive

  • Who else can offer such vast promises and consistently deliver?

  • Why do we go to what we know is fleeting when the God of the universe is waiting to gift us what we need?

  • This offer is not only true but also unconditional. Even when we leave Jesus waiting for years, he still stands eager to answer our prayers.!

Take Action

  • Ask: Just ask. It’s that simple. Seek Jesus in prayer, and he will not leave you wanting. After asking for all you may need, end your prayer by saying, “Not my will, Lord, but yours be done.”

  • Gift: Just as Jesus gifts us all that we ask for in prayer, we are called to be generous stewards of his gifts in this world. Give somebody who is important to you a gift this week. Think about how your gift is imperfect and how much more God is waiting to give you!
